Menu Swap: September 8th

Tomatoes, again, seem to be the ingredient for the week deemed by Gluten Free Mommy. That’s totally fine by me considering the gorgeous tomatoes that I’ve seen grown here. It really is uncanny the difference between near off the vine produce and store-shipped goods. Even organics don’t surpass the beauty and taste of average grown vegetables and fruit. J is growing cherry tomatoes in one of those aero gardens and they’re coming along quite well so it won’t be long till those cuties appear in salads.

Tomatoes are usually constantly appearing within my recipes. Tomatoes are the foundation to a lot of sauces, stews, and soups instead of using chicken stock or broth. Why not? After all, tomatoes are more nutrition savvy with mounds of vitamin C. Tomatoes come in an assortment varieties, shapes, sizes, colors, and so on. One, in particular, is known as the heirloom tomato which is named after the primary planted seed which is supposed to be passed on by generations and untouched by genetic enhancements. These are the multi-colored red, greens, and yellows that are more often seen. Others include the plum, cherry, beefsteak, and hothouse. China is the most prominent tomato producer, believe it or not, since their recipes usually refute tomatoes entirely; you figure that one out.

Well fear not sweet tomato, for I have recipes for thou to be utilized within! Since I’m starting a new job, my cooking methods will again be determined for the hours I have to cook and slighted in enormous amounts as well but I'll be making lunches a-plenty again (bentos if I can find a cheap box). Still, when I do have time, I love to cook for my father in law. He’s as adventurous as I and thoroughly enjoys my cooking. I guess it’s slightly selfish since I use him as a substitution for Phil..I miss my Phil. I see him at the end of the week but, still, I miss him.

Same deal applies to the weekly recipes: I’ll name some I intend to prepare and hopefully will get to utilize them, which I don’t see how I cannot since I’m a food cooking addict.

Asparagus Thin Focus

Those who suffer with food allergies do not have to surrender to good nutrition, good health, and most importantly, good flavor. My goal is to bring to the public wholesome information in addition to recipes for those who need hope and help in the kitchen.

I may be thin but I'm an enthusiastic cook with a passionate appetite.
